The RollEase Workroom System is a manually-operated mechanism for raising and lowering soft window treatments. The system can be used in Roman, Balloon, Austrian, folding screen shades and all other bottom-up soft treatments. By simply pulling on either side of a control cord or bead chain, the operator can quickly and precisely position any shade that weighs up to 30 pounds (14 kg). Left-hand or right-hand control can be requested. The soft shade system can be mounted to a wood mounting board or to our aluminum headrail (Snapper System).

How it works:
Our patented clutch mechanism allows you to raise or lower the shade by pulling on either side of the control cord. This releases the clutch, allowing smooth and easy repositioning of the shade. The clutch holds the shade securely in place when the cord is released. The RollEase system keeps shades hanging level by wrapping individual lift cords around a rotating shaft.

How It Works:
Pulling on either side of the control cord (1) releases the clutch (2) and transmits the turning force to the shaft (3) via the spears (4), drive disc (5) and spear retainer (6). Shaft-supporting brackets (7) guide .9 mm lift cord (8) around the shaft without overlapping on itself. The shade is raised when the expanding coil of the lift line forces the shaft to slide away from the clutch. The 3 to 1 mechanical advantage makes the shade feel light. The shade is lowered when the weight of the shade unwinds the lift lines and draws the shaft back towards the clutch. This uniform wrapping and unwrapping of the lift lines keeps the shade hanging straight and level.
When the control cord is released, the clutch automatically re-engages, locking the shade in position.
Each Lift line is anchored to the shaft by means of a cord clip (8) and at the bottom of the shade the lift lines are attached to the shade with adjustable bottom rings (9). Tension on all lift lines should be equal. Lift lines are guided to the shaft by cord guides on the back of each bracket. Lift lines less than 8" from the shade's edges are first guided by edge lift screw eyes and then to brackets which guide the lift cord to the shaft.
